Ken Alan Hadden – Healing with Tong Ren Healing
We want to share an article that was written by Ken Alan Hadden, who used Tong Ren in his own healing process from both HIV and AIDS. Ken started healing with Tong Ren in 2007 and has seen miraculous results and since then has become a Tong Ren practitioner, holding his own class in Northampton MA to share with others what was shared with him; hope and healing.

I was diagnosed with AIDS in January 1999. Being holistically oriented, I tried everything imaginable to heal from HIV infection including colonic irrigation, Tibetan medicine, naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, macrobiotics, raw foods, yoga, massage, prayer/meditation and reiki.
Even with all these therapies I got sicker and sicker, losing 30 pounds and acquiring two opportunistic infections. I made the decision to take the HIV cocktail and soon was back to normal health. The HIV meds had some disturbing side effects however, such as chronic diarrhea, fatigue and facial wasting.
I continued the HIV meds for eight years, taking a drug holiday every spring to detoxify from the chemicals in the cocktail and hoping the virus would not proliferate. The viral load would sky rocket and my T cells would drop each time however so I would resume the drug therapy.
In March 2007 I was hospitalized with gallstones. The doctors wanted surgery; I wanted natural healing. It was a few days later I got my first Tong Ren treatment. After only three minutes of the practitioner tapping on an acupuncture model I ran to the bathroom and started passing “gall sand” which continued off and on for several days. I stopped taking the HIV meds at that time.
After approximately seven months of going to dozens of Tong Ren Energy healing classes in eastern Massachusetts, my blood work after eight months of being off the meds showed stabilization of my immune system (T cells staying the same and the viral load reduced by 50 percent). I noticed immediately how my mood was enhanced and very stable. I also had hernia surgery during this time. The giving and receiving of Tong Ren allowed me to heal quickly.
In a typical Tong Ren session people are seated facing a Tong Ren practitioner. There is an interactive dialogue with each person to learn about the person’s diagnosis and condition. The practitioner then determines the treatment points to be addressed for the person using an acupuncture model as an energetic and physical representation of a person, and the focused energy of the practitioner and group accesses the collective unconscious, directing energy to the treatment points.
Tong Ren releases blockages of the natural healing energy, often called Chi, which is just as necessary for health as oxygen, glucose, protein and other nutrients. We don’t only deal on the levels of chemistry and physics if we expect to heal an issue that’s resisting treatment. Removal of these blockages restores the natural flow of nurturing Chi energy which allows the body to return to homeostasis that helps us naturally function properly and heal. Tong Ren calms the mind and is very relaxing. Tong Ren incorporates Western anatomy and physiology with Eastern wisdom, but is not simply the sum of two sciences. It’s healing power grows a quantum leap by harnessing another natural tendency we have all observed in nature: synchronicity.
The practice of Tong Ren is spreading rapidly, and it is now available in at least 28 of the United States , and at least 18 countries. A medical study was published in the “Complimentary Health Practice Review” in December, 2008 evaluating the effect of Tong Ren on 265 patients at seven different sites in Massachusetts and Connecticut with cancer, autoimmune, endocrine, musculoskeletal and other disorders. It showed 89 percent of patients responded positively to the Tong Ren therapy, and concluded that it complements other forms of treatment and provides a safe, noninvasive, inexpensive adjunct for people for whom traditional regimens have not provided the improvement they seek.
I have been a Tong Ren practitioner for over six years and lead several Tong Ren energy healing classes. I have witnessed dozens of amazing healing’s through Tom Tam’s Energy Healing System. I am truly grateful for the return of optimal health, which we all deserve. I am also a Board Member of the Oriental Culture Institute Healing Research Foundation in Quincy, a nonprofit organization promoting the advancement and education of Tong Ren healing worldwide with the intention of developing non-invasive and more cost effective health care.
