Tong Ren and the pineal gland
Pineal
Definition and anatomy
The pineal also known as the pineal body, epiphysis cerebral (of the brain), epiphysis or “third eye” is a small gland in the shape of a seed of a pine cone; an intracranial glandular formation, located at the edge of the third ventricle, posterior to the hypothalamus from which it derives in embryonic development, conical in shape, with a length of 6-8mm and about 4mm wide.
It belongs to the epithalamus, a place of great passage of information, consisting of:
- Pineal.
- Trine of the Abenula.
- Posterior commissure.
The trine of the Abenula allows communication between the sense of smell and the limbic system; the posterior commissure completes the interhemispheric communication. The pineal is an area of exchange of data concerning sight, sleep-wake rhythm, inner vision, sensations dictated by loss of orientation, aggression and fulfillment, sexual growth and development, defense immune, the connection with the divine.
Pineal Gland
Anatomical localization of the pineal
The epiphysis belongs to the family of circumventricular organs; therefore it does not have a real blood brain barrier.
Vascularization
She receives the blood supply from the pious mother, who is the only meninx that completely envelops her, and through it carries out hormonal activity; it is a highly vascularized organ. Arterial blood comes from the posterior choroid arteries and venous blood flows to the internal cervical veins.
Embryology
The epiphysis originates from the ectoderm ..
Histology
It includes pinealocytes and interstitial cells derived from modified glial cells.
Neurotransmission of signals
The epiphysis receives photosensory information from the eye. The light perceived by the retinal ganglion cells is transformed into an electrical impulse and transferred to the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) via the retinohypothalamic bundle (RTH) and from this to the pineal.
Relationship of the pineal to cosmic Chi.
Synthesis of melatonin
Melatonin is synthesized starting from serotonin and tryptophan present in the bloodstream. It is not accumulated in cells but secreted into the blood where it passes through the choroid plexus. From here it reaches the brain and peripheral tissues.
Biosynthesis occurs under the direct influence of the central nervous system. Stress, impulses from the Central Nervous System, hypoglycemia, endorphins produced by the adrenal medulla and steroid hormones determine the generalized sympathetic activation that promotes their secretion.
Third eye and Pineal
History
The first anatomical description of the pineal gland is found in the writings of Galen.
Before him, the pineal gland was thought to regulate the flow of spirit in the cerebral ventricles.
Galen rejected this idea because the pineal gland is located outside the brain, and therefore, cannot direct the flow of the spirit into the ventricles of the brain.
In the middle Ages, Mondino dei Liuzzi defined the epiphysis with the term “pinea”.
Descartes, a seventeenth-century French philosopher, metaphysically interprets the pineal as the place of the soul as it is an unequal structure, entrusted with the centralization of all information and as the place of thought.
Since then it has always been considered important for psychic balance.
Towards the end of the nineteenth century, several scientists speculate that the pineal may be a phylogenic relic, a vestige of a dorsal third eye.
Others are starting to see it as an endocrine gland.
Ajna chakra or “eye of Shiva”, in a 18th century Indian representation.
Sci-fi
The epiphysis currently plays an important role in the field of pseudoscience.
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, founder of theosophy, identifies the “third eye” with the “eye of Shiva” of the Hindu tradition and concludes that the pineal body of modern man is what remains of the organ of spiritual vision.
In philosophy, Georges Bataille uses the concept of “pineal eye” as a reference to a blind spot in Western rationality; the pineal has the central role: it is the organ of delusion and excess.
Representation of the third eye
Its location on the forehead corresponds to Yintang of Chinese medicine, to Buddha Brain in Japanese, to the third eye of mystical and religious traditions, to the sixth chakra of Ayurvedic medicine. The Egyptians depicted this area as an eye seen from the side.
In fact, both in Ayurvedic medicine and in Sujok, the pineal is associated with the VII Chakra Sahascrara, while the pituitary is linked to the VI Chakra Ajina. Therefore, what has been said previously may seem like a contradiction, but given the link with the hypothalamus and the visual system and its connection with the brain stem, Yintang also represents the pineal as GV18 in the parietoccipital area.
The Caduceus.
The Caduceus
Different peoples have coined a Caduceus linked to their divinities, but what unites all of them is that this symbol represents the nervous system and the cellular system and the spiritual part of man.
The sacred geometric symbolism of the Caduceus says: “Man known “.
The two wings are the cerebral hemispheres.
The knob of the mercury stick expresses the pineal.
The stick is the spinal cord and its verticality indicates the path, the path of truth to be traveled represents “the tree of life”.
In esotericism, the two snakes represent bioelectric currents and mental principles in the dualistic contrast: light-darkness, good-evil, masculine and feminine, Ida and Pingala, Yin and Yang, sympathetic system and parasympathetic system.
Where they cross, they form diaphragms that allow the change of energetic polarity nourished by the three DanTians or in Hindu thought by the chakral wheels.
The snakes’ tail represents the “cauda equina” which in symbolism is the tree of good and evil.
The pineal gland is represented by the Roman Catholic church in the ” courtyard of the pinecone ” in the Vatican museum.
The occult
The pineal gland has always represented the territory of the occult, of the unconscious, of Freemasonry.
Studying the activation frequencies of the pineal is useful for secret and occult societies for population control. Important are the US and Soviet studies to read people’s minds.
Tackling the study of the pineal from this perspective leads us directly to alchemy, esotericism and presents us with a negative science fiction scenario that leads to the control and extinction of humanity.
The functions and benefits of the pineal were known by the Egyptians and Romans who described it with the symbolism of the eye.
The Arab world also has the eye of Allah, a symbol of looking into the invisible side of man
Also on the back of the dollar bill in the United States there is the representation of the pineal in what is called the “all seeing eye”, which reveals the ability of the person or group to look into the other what goes beyond the physical dimension.
An individual (or group of individuals) uses this gland to enter the unseen side of the person (in the spirit world) and possibly control the thoughts and actions of people in the physical world.
The fluoride
At the end of the 90s, Jennifer Luca carried out the first study on the effects of sodium fluoride on the pineal gland showing its specific absorption.
Sodium fluoride is a substance capable of attacking the most important center of the brain: the pineal; calcifies the gland and blocks its function of balancing hormone levels. Accumulated in the body, it produces allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, osteoporosis, bone damage, cancer, neurological problems, mental disorders and a reduction in life span. In children it causes learning deficits, difficulty concentrating. It decreases thyroid function in people who consume little iodine, causing loss of intelligence, cretinism, depression and weight gain. It reduces the strength of the bones and exposes to fractures with the mechanism of fluorescence (a typical effect of tetracyclines during sun exposure). Harvard University studies have established a link between fluoride and osteosarcoma in men under the age of 20. Patients with renal insufficiency manifested a high sensitivity to fluoride toxicity due to the difficulty of elimination: this leads to a high presence of fluoride in the bones and renal osteodystrophy.
In 1944, the Journal of the American Dental Association described fluorination as a cause of osteoporosis, goiter, and diseases of the spine. In 1990, Cornell University identified kidney damage from fluoride intake. In 1978, Yale University discovered that 1ppm of fluoride is enough to decrease the strength and elasticity of the bones. In 1987, the American NCI (Cancer Institute) found a relationship between osteosarcoma and the presence of fluoride in drinking water. Most of the fluoride that is not eliminated tends to accumulate in the bones and teeth. It has recently been discovered that it accumulates in large quantities in the pineal gland, the most sophisticated “device” in the body that regulates the sleep-wake rhythm, growth, maturation and sexual development. Since bone enzymes are rich in fluoride and can contain 99% of the body’s fluoride, bones are particularly damaged. The accumulating fluoride makes them more fragile and prone to fracturing. At the dental level, fluorosis is established which makes the enamel loaded with fluoride and a more fragile dentition. The enzymes damaged by fluoride are unable to produce the collagen necessary to keep healthy bones. Dr. Durrant-Peatfield states that fluoride is a poison that destroys enzymes. Its accumulation in the thyroid gland causes hormonal imbalances. It is associated with autoimmune diseases in addition to osteoporosis, osteosarcoma and even an increase in thyroid cancer. Fluoride is also neurotoxic to the fetus at doses considered safe for the mother.
Alteration of space and time
The third eye opens the unused part of the brain fundamental in perception and learning, which sees what, does not appear to the eye, the deep sensations, and dialogues with the frequencies of the spiritual world, and improves intuitions especially at night when dreams enter us. (REM phase) and activate, in the pineal gland, the production of dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a psychedelic substance capable of altering spatial and temporal perception.
In Tong Ren we use: GV23, GB13 on the right, Yintang in the red fractal, and the great upper pyramid with a square base with a vertex in GV18 (see later).
Various researches confirm that during the night, between one and four in the morning, chemicals are released in the brain that causes feelings of connection to a higher energy source.
In traditional Chinese medicine we are a microcosm united with a macrocosm. The pineal is an area where the great Shen enters us and determines the life that is not chromosomal but given by the eternal world. It is the place where, when the soul enters us, free will joins destiny and the individual task to be performed.
Representation of the Holy Grail.
Due to its shape, it resembles the Holy Grail, the chalice used by Jesus in the Last Supper. it collects not the blood of Christ but melatonin, a liquid of immortality with antioxidant power. Practices such as Yoga, relaxation, Qi Gong, meditation increase its functions. Otherwise, we are witnessing its atrophy, where insomnia accompanies the difficulty of turning to a spiritual world.
Localization of the chakras according to Ayurvedic medicine.
There are many studies on the relationship between aging and calcifications of the pineal gland and also on the incidence of cancer following calcifications with no obvious scientific implications. An adequate intake of zinc in the diet restores functionality and assumes a preventive role in pineal atrophy.
Fluoride is responsible for the formation of calcium phosphate calcifications with inhibition of melatonin production and the onset of insomnia. For this reason, there is a tendency to object to the use of toothpastes and fluorinated products (preservatives), refined sugars, carbonated drinks and to prefer water with a low fluoride content. The epiphysis decalcifies at night when it is active.
Short list of foods containing fluorides:
Chewing gum, Toothpastes, Medicines, Carbonated drinks (coca cola, Pepsi, etc …), Bottled or caned tea, Energy drinks, Refined sugars, Preservatives, Sweetened drinks, Fish sticks (mechanically boned), Chicken sticks (mechanically boned) , Foods cooked in Teflon-bottomed pans (Fluorine is used in the production of low-friction plastics such as Teflon and in coolants such as Freon), Fluorinated cooking salts, Anesthetics (Enflurane, Isoflurane & Sevoflurane). Ingredient of psychiatric drugs such as Prozac and hypnotics. It is prevalent in food, beverages and drinking water and in bath salts: it is introduced in 90% of waters. The water filters that you buy in supermarkets do not remove the fluoride but only distillation and the reverse osmosis process are able to do so. The cheapest way to avoid fluoride is, therefore, to buy a water distiller.
Control of humanity
Fluoride was introduced into the water by the Nazis and the Russians in their concentration camps to make the camp population docile and not in discussion with the authorities. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I deeply believe that if we deactivate the place of the soul or of the meeting of the spirit in our history of earthly life, we disconnect the unity with God or with what represents the power of our source of spirituality. We will become slaves of secret societies, of occult organizations that monstrously regulate the business world.
Sodium fluoride (Silicofluoride) represents a dangerous and expensive industrial waste to dispose of which is obtained during the production of fertilizers. In the past it has also been used as a poison for mice and as an insecticide. The EPA’s Union (a group of scientists) has published “the white paper” that condemns the fluoridation of drinking water. This substance is a pollutant, with higher toxicity than lead and almost equal to arsenic.
It is therefore hypothesized that the use of fluoride may be a way of lowering the level of consciousness to achieve acceptance and manipulation of the masses. Scientists who support fluoridation often do not show the scientific basis for their thesis.
Also, mercury products and heavy metals can damage the pineal; natural remedies such as algae (spirulina, chlorella) and zeolite can help thanks to the antioxidant properties.
Circadian rhythms
The pineal takes on importance in circadian rhythms.
It is connected to the visual system via the hypothalamus and the brain stem.
It is stimulated by light and dark which influence the production of melatonin by the pinealocytes. The hormone levels of melatonin, serotonin, gonadal hormones and norepinephrine are interrelated.
The epiphysis mitigates pituitary activity; in fact, in the prepubescent phase there is an increase in melatonin which decreases after puberty. The production of melatonin reduces the blood concentration of the luteinizing hormone (LH) and the growth hormone (GH). Before menstruation, the concentration of melatonin rises which is reduced during the LH surge, so there is a correlation between the concentration of melatonin and the menstrual cycle.
From this it follows that daily variations in quantity and duration of melatonin signal production affect reproduction.
The pineal has a large amount of serotonin, which is used during the night to form melatonin.
In the dark, the level of melatonin increases with the formation of melanin and a decrease in that of serotonin. If this hormonal balance were kept constant, as in the winters of the Nordic countries, it would lead to depression, greater production of brown fat, less sex hormones, decreased sexual intercourse and fewer births.
This picture increases norepinephrine, which leads to an increase in alertness, alertness and ease of reaction. An excess of adrenal activity is created which further stimulates the production of melatonin by the pineal.
We can understand Bergman’s characters and films such as “Whispering and Screaming”, “The Place of Strawberries” and others, where reality is crystallized, without the possibility of change, sliding towards depression. We sense the Swedish loneliness, the family made up of a single person, the individual procreation devices used in the absence of a partner, the ease of alcoholism to quell the excess of noradrenalin and to reassure the person.
In Tong Ren to rebalance the melatonin level due to excessive exposure to the dark (Nordic countries) it is necessary to use the large front pyramid with a pentagonal base with a top in Yintang, rebalancing it with the small rear pyramid with a triangular base with a top in GV18, and use GB8 of the green fractal field and GB13 of the purple red fractal (see later).
The sun inhibits the level of melatonin and norepinephrine, in fact we feel safer in the light than in the dark.
Fear of the dark is instinctive, but it can be changed by cortical activity that tries to give a conscious response to that unconscious world which, for a moment, wanted to communicate an inner discomfort. At night we feel insecure, we sleep under the covers because our defensive energy (Wei Qi) takes refuge within ourselves to replenish the organs and reappear at dawn.
Wei Qi is very similar to the piezoelectric activity that with daytime walking brings calcium to the bones, which is recovered during the night to be sent to the organs. Energy takes refuge at night where it is most needed.
With the day, sexual activity increases, we think of morning priapism and the possibility of intercourse upon awakening. The nocturnal production of melatonin is favored by sleeping completely in the dark and by daytime exposure to the sun; it is altered by falling asleep late, by the evening use of mobile phones, tablets, television, by the use of diffused light. The sun induces the production of vitamin D and serotonin, which is used at night in the production of melatonin. So to conclude for its functionality it is necessary to sleep and meditate.
Magnetism
It contains magnetic crystals that activate the internal orientation compass by connecting us to the Earth’s magnetic pole and to the north.
Our balance depends on the cerebellum and the otovestibular system but the psychic orientation and the difficulty in understanding who we are, where and with whom we are depends on the pineal. Our orientation is not only horizontally but also spatially in union with the essence. The pineal is the area of contact with the spiritual world with the rebirths with the visions of the mediums. For this reason, in new places or in those crowded with many people who occupy our living space, we can lose our bearings and our heads spin.
In Tong Ren, the small vertical pyramid is used for spatial orientation and the large vertical pyramid for temporal and transcendent connection. The lateral pyramids with a pentagonal base are also used as an aid (see later).
Immune system
It matters to the immune system.
It has been seen in mice that the ablation of the pineal induces a reduction of the thymus, gland responsible for specific immunity (T helper lymphocytes, cytotoxic T lymphocytes, natural killer). Therefore, when the epiphysis deteriorates, the immune system related to the thymus also becomes deficient and the secretion of IL-2 (interleukin 2) and Thymulin decreases. This hormone is involved in the differentiation of T cells and the enhancement of the actions of T and NK cells. Thymulin also appears to have neuroendocrine effects. There are bidirectional interactions between the thymic epithelium and the hypothalamus-pituitary axis. Thymulin follows a circadian rhythm like the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH): high levels of one are correlated with high levels of the other. Suppression of endogenous melatonin secretion reduces T cell line formation and spleen weight. The administration of melatonin reverses this result.
Pineal function was investigated by suppressing melatonin production with propanolol (a medicine); the resulting immune response is dose dependent. Immunosuppression due to acute stress, steroid and immunosuppressive drugs is antagonized by the administration of melatonin. Physiological concentrations of melatonin stimulate CD4 + , a T helper lymphocytes in vitro; these release substances that compete in the brain with opiate receptors, protecting against stress. In humans, melatonin enhances the activity of IL-2, it is hypothesized that the targets of melatonin are T lymphocytes and macrophages. The effects of melatonin on the immune system vary throughout the day and throughout the seasons. Melatonin protects immune cells from stress, also activates monocytes and stimulates the production of IL-1 (interleukin 1), increasing the release of the granulocyte-macrophage stimulating factor (GM-CSF) from the bone marrow. Given the immunostimulating effect, melatonin induces health improvement and protects against infections.
In Tong Ren the fractal is used red, gray, green, celestial and the pyramids with a square base with upper, anterior, posterior vertex, plus T1, T2, T3, T4, T7 (see later).
Standing station
It influences the upright position and the ability to receive proprioceptive stimuli at the cortical level. Dutch studies show that the ablation of the pineal on monkeys alters their erect posture and creates the possibility of scoliotic deviations of the spine.
It is assumed that in the early stages of scoliotic pathology or in milder scoliosis there may be a greater production of melatonin in relation to a greater demand by the cells (especially osteoblasts), while when the deformity progresses these high levels are no longer sustainable and they are unable to counterbalance the dysfunction for which we are witnessing a decline in these values.
The scoliosis enigma escapes the full understanding of scholars if it is framed from a biochemical point of view, while if we take into account its magnetism and the existence of the spirit and soul we understand it from a phenomenological and spiritual point of view.
In scoliosis according to Tong Ren, it is necessary to work on C1 on the painful side and combine the homolateral motor homunculus to stimulate the fascia and muscle tone, follow the curves of the spine and work on the Hua Tuo points where it is necessary to release energy. But it is very useful to stimulate the two vertical pyramids and balance with the side pyramids as needed (see later).
In embryology the erect position is determined by the straightening of the neck. The development of the telencephalon begins in the fetal period from the first 2 cm of the neuronal tube and produces its maximum growth from the front to the back at the 5th – 6th month. Cervical lordosis caused by the weight and volume of the telencephalon displaced posteriorly allows the person to erect the spine permanently. This differentiates us from animals that can only temporarily stand upright. Furthermore, animals do not have a neck which, on the other hand, represents a fifth limb used for eating or biting. We are probably not descended from apes, but we have always been upright; Darwinian evolutionary theory fails precisely with man. We are not specialized animals to do everything, but thinking beings capable of using our hands in a fantastic way to be able to have at our disposal things that allow us everything. We are potential energy, not kinetic energy.
The pineal is the connection with the spirit, with the cosmic Qi; it is that thin thread that binds us to the universe when we do Qi Gong that dominates the brain structure through unconscious aspects.
Tong Ren
Stimulation points in the Tong Ren are: GV20, GV19, GV18, Yintang, GB8, Sishenchong -EX-HN1 (they are four extrameridian points at the vertex of the scalp, grouped around GV20 and located 1 cun anterior, posterior and lateral to it; in our images they are represented with the letter S).
The acupuncture point necessary for stimulation is GV20 when the person is young, but due to the forward inclination of the head, due to aging, this area changes becoming first GV19 and then GV18 in advanced senile phase. We must think that our body, in the embryo, is folded on itself as in the elderly and that the points connected to the pineal move in the child from GV18 to GV 19 and finally to GV 20, thanks to the development of the telencephalon which erects the head.
In acupuncture GV20 combined with Sishenchong (four vigilant spirits) represents the polar star of the great bear.
“The four vigilant spirits” calm the internal agitation that informed the conscious system of the discomfort, they are the stimulation points that can be used individually, in pairs or as a cross to rebalance the orientation lost by the North Star; they constitute the orthogonal arms of the cortical projection of the abdominal Ba Gua. They can be stimulated in any direction through intention.
From what has been said, we understand that to stimulate the epiphysis in its functions, listed above, a three-dimensional view of the same is required.
Upper pyramids
Small Upper Pyramid
We have intact a pyramidal structure with a quadrangular base with a vertex in GV20 and a base formed by the “four vigilant spirits”; it expresses the pineal in its terrestrial magnetic polarity capable of orienting us among people and which prevents us from suffocating in very crowded places.
The apex of the pyramid, which can vary over the course of life, connects us to cosmic Qi and to light with a two-way channel: we are united with the sky but the sky also joins us. It is the embryological memory of our birth which is not a biological but a spiritual moment.
The “four vigilant spirits” represent:
- Front: the aspect of fire, light, future;
- Rear: water, the unstructured ability to structure the person and the memory of the past;
- Left: birth, evolution;
- Right: introspection and the ability to enter oneself and then go outside.
This pyramid orients us in the earthly world and connects us to the spirit of the ancestors and to the future.
Great Upper Pyramid.
Around this a larger pyramid is created which orientates us in time and makes us immortal; it represents the soul that enters us when we are formed to return to the great Shen at the moment of death. In the pineal there is predestination and free will. The soul chooses the time and place to incarnate following the path of the spirit that forged us. The soul is free will, the spirit is the predestinate. This second pyramid with a vertex in GV20 has a quadrangular base with the following points: Yintang, GB8 right, GV18, GB8 left. It determines an extraordinary spatial configuration because each point of the base represents a vertex which has as its base other points of other pyramids.
Front Pyramids
The pyramid with apex in Yintang indicates the direction towards the light, towards the south, the sun in its maximum splendor, the formation of daytime serotonin, the fulfillment of expectations, the potential energy that manifests itself in kinetic energy, expresses the act with the heart related to reasoning and the vision of the future.
The triangular base of the pyramid is formed by GV20 and the “vigilant spirits” of the right and left, expressing the acuteness of the thought connected to the spirit.
The square base of the pyramid is formed by the lateral “two vigilant spirits” and by the two GB8 on the right and on the left, it shows the strength of the spirit that manifests itself as spiritual light (Yintang) that modifies the matter.
The pentagonal base of the pyramid is given by the combination of the two previous pyramids with GV20, “the two vigilant spirits” on the side and the two GB8 on the right and left. Indicates the spiritual and emotional disposition in the vital elements constituting man, where Yintang is the light that transforms matter, GB8 on the left is change (liver energy), GB8 on the right expresses the breath of life and the lung, GV20 the great Shen, the “watchful spirit” on the left implies the gift of life and the “watchful spirit” on the right the source of epigenetics.
There is also a second pyramid with a triangular base with GV20 and GB 8 on the right and on the left which expresses the current moment of the system. It is like taking a picture where life stopped for a moment, because the energy linked to movement is in contrast with what we acquire internally to reflect.
Humanity has always been inclined to stop: to act it must reflect on what it has done.
Rear pyramids
GV18 represents the posterior aspect of the gland, with night vision, the production of melatonin and the inhibition of sex hormones. This aspect concerns the past. The four pyramids that are outlined have their bases in the points of intersection previously described.
Side pyramids
The left aspect of the pineal has GB8 sx as vertex.
GB8 is a detox point, it fights alcoholism, corresponds in the Tong Ren to the neck and to the representation of the vague on Penfield’s homunculus.
The triangular base of the pyramid is given by GV20 (spirituality aimed at the future) and by the front and rear “two vigilant spirits” which respectively represent the fire and water aspect of the spirit.
The pyramid with a square base is formed by the front and rear “two vigilant spirits”, by GV18 (unconscious aspect of the past) and by Yintang (unconscious vision of the future).
The pentagonal pyramid is the union of the two previously mentioned pyramids; it represents spirituality combined with materiality that allows the soul to realize its life path.
The large triangular pyramid is given by GV20, GB 18 and Yintang. It indicates the entire span of our life from embryonic development to the sight of light.
The right aspect of the epiphysis is given by the same stimulation points previously described; only in this case, the vertex is on the right GB8. The pyramids are aimed at reflection, at considering one’s own existence, they indicate the moment of decline and death where the triangular base of the pyramid goes from Yintang to GV20 to GV18, reclining the head with a movement opposite to that of birth.
Furthermore, a fractalization of the field occurs around the pineal, which reflects the octagonal periumbilical Bagua around GV20 with vertices in: left GB13, right GB13, right GB7, right GB10, right GB19, left GB19, left GB10, left GB7.
